1. Respect and Dignity
Alan James Clinics is committed to maintaining patient dignity, privacy and comfort during consultations and examinations.
2. Requesting a Chaperone
Patients may request a chaperone for an examination where appropriate.
A clinician may also offer or require a chaperone depending on the nature of the examination, clinical circumstances or professional guidance.
3. Availability
The clinic will try to provide a suitable chaperone where possible.
If a chaperone is requested but unavailable, the appointment or examination may need to be delayed or rearranged.
4. Patient Choice
Patients may decline an examination or request rearrangement if they would prefer a chaperone to be present.
